“Damini, a call centre employee had accidentally met Gagan Dev and fallen in love with him. They eventually got married without Gagan’s parents being informed. Gagan had assured Damini and her father that his family will accept Damini after marriage. But it did not happen, instead Gagan’s parents refused to accept Damini as their daughter-in-law and threw her out of the house. They even forced Gagan to relook at his married life and took him to their native place in Uttar Pradesh. Damini became pregnant in due course but Gagan was not there with her. Six months had passed by since the birth of Mehak, the daughter of Gagan and Damini but there was no news from Gagan’s end. And then Damini came to know that Gagan had married a girl named Vaishali in the village. Further, He told her that he had severed all ties with Damini and their daughter Mehak. The news left Damini helpless; she didn’t have any idea what to do. At this point her neighbor Sushma and her husband Shyam, who were privy to her plight, encouraged her to register a complaint at the women’s cell of the police.

The women cell now directed to the case to concerned local police station. For the few days local police station did not receive Damini’s file. The police eventually informed Damini that there were little chances of Gagan being punished because Damini’s marriage was not registered and the same could not be established with mere photographs of them being together in photograph. Damini was back to the crossroads. She had no proof of her marriage with Gagan. But Damini was determined to fight. She wanted Gagan to acknowledge her as his wife and Mehak as his daughter. What will Damini do? Will Damini get justice?
